Above are the two brightest objects in the night’s sky, Venus and the Moon, as they were when moving together as Venus and a Waxing Crescent Moon just before setting over the western horizon on Sunday night, July 15th, 2018. On that night, when I, Ferveo Joe, witnessed this rare event, I was inspired to create the iferv.com icon. In the mimicking icon the daughter of the Sun and the son of the Earth sail a dark-night’s journey together, delivering lighted paths for everyone, with Venus as the captain, and the Waxing Crescent Moon as the boat.
